The septum piercing is very back in style. I find myself doing at least 6 or so a week (sometimes a day!). I could be happier about this because it's always been one of my favourites.

When I first started my apprenticeship, we would master (under strict supervision) one piercing before we moved on to the next. When the time came for me to start doing septum's i was needless to say no less then terrified to take on this procedure... I thought to myself "how can I know it will turn out straight?!?!"....
The haunting reality of me having to do my first one, on a dear friend no less, was fast approaching and all I could feel was doubt.

That fateful Saturday afternoon finally came. I walked up the stairs to get to the studio only to see my mentor packing up to leave for a last minute weekend trip to Toronto.... I mentioned that I should call my friend to reschedule the appointment since  he wouldn't be present but he quickly squashed that and told me to do it anyways....

"But what if I pierce it crooked?"
"Don't get it crooked"
"No no but what if I get it crooked.."
"Don't get it crooked. Bye"

Yup.... sink or swim... Happy ending... I didn't pierce it crooked :)
