Probably the reason I still pierce.
So as some of you know, Ive been piercing longer then my core clientel has been alive. Seriously.... It has been 18 years. To think that Ive lasted in a carreer for that long is aweing.
Now considering that on average people change carrers every 5 years...this makes me wonder why and how Ive lasted this long...
Answer... my clients. Ive said it over and over, they are the life of me AND the death of me lol.
Today I pierced a girl that really took a piece of my heart. Seriously. She really did.
Enter a fresh, fun, young girl getting her first pro piercings done. She's stylish, confident and on a whim decided this morning that she wanted double nostrils. She was scared but was so very respectful. She wasn't acting like an anxious retard trying to look cool. This made me really really into piercing her.. I noticed her politness and grace under pressure and decided that I was gonna give this girl the experience that her behaviour well deserved.
Short story long as my dad would say, the piercing procedure went amazing. Perfect placement, perfect look and perfect experience. It reminded me of the great experiences I had when I was younger that made me feel that body modification was a way I could make myself feel good and mark milestones in my life.
To end my rambles... lol, after a great experience she wanted to tip me but only had 4$ to tip me with. She was embaressed and felt that she was being insulting by not showing her gratitude by tiping me more. To me this felt funny .... because I can honestly say that after seeing the happiness she was feeling... I would have done it for free. Well maybe not... It is rent time lol.
When Im down about wether or not people "get it" when it comes to what I've chossen to do for almost 20 years, Im gonna think of this amazing young lady.
