dermals on dudes... discuss...

So what do you think about guys that get piercings that are traditionaly female?

I dont personaly think there should be a gender bias tacked onto piercings. Thinking that there is a "side" for a guy to get his earlobe pierce as an identification of his sexualy stems from old '80s urban legends and to serve as a deterant for males to not get it done in fear of not being sure of the "non gay side". Its silly, prejudicial and just plain insecure.

Having said this... why is there a stigma attached to a male getting his navel done? The popular perception is that it's "girly"even though it looks fucking HOT on dudes. But now put a ring in his eyebrow or septum.... thats seen as "manly" and "tough".

I wonder if as a mass we need to put on these gender piercing labels to help sort out "roles" or to make it simple to identify sexual preference as to not have to  either ask or look past it....

"Oh look, he has both his nipple done and is wearing a "man purse"... he must like dudes. Guess i wont waste my time and ask him to be me a drink..."
or
"Look at that chick... she's hot but she has her eyebrow and septum pierced, she must be butch. I guess I shouldnt bother stricking up conversation, that would pointless, she must hate men..."

Could it be along the same lines as parents dressing up there babies in pink or blue to show the sex of their newborn to strangers so they know without needing to ask. I will admit, I am guilty of assuming a baby is a girl if their parents dressed the child in a pink ruffly dress. Why wouldn't a parent put that on a boy?... What difference would it make if they did..... Oh, ya, our perception of the childs sex and role as a boy or girl would be confused...

To sum all this up I would like to say that I love it when I have male clients that love the bling :) The ones that don't have a "traditional" outlook on body piercing. They get something done cause they like it and it looks fucking good on them.
Here is an example of a hot confident dude that wanted to show off the bling and look good for the ladies ;)

Dermals, dermals, dermals.

I love new trends in piercing. It keeps us veteran piercers staying sharp and in the now. Dermals have become a new staple in body modification that all different styles  of people are into. The thing I love the most about them is that you can place them pretty much anywhere. The placement reflects the clients personality and that my friend is a nice thing to see. Unlike people getting the "trendy" piercing... they can get the "trendy" dermal but choose the placement that best describes them.. :)
